Sales Training – Daily Meetings to Stay on Top of Things

Hello and thanks for visiting.

In any sales organization you will find that it is a battle of wills.
Salesmen often have strong personalities and try to control their outward environment whilst the managers are trying to push everyone in the way they think the group should go.

Often this leads to awkward situations for those caught in between and can lead to power struggles within the organization.

For many reasons I think you should give the best salesmen a little leniency.
It gives people another motivation to become best and as long as the star salesmen keep their numbers good and keep increasing, they should be able to take a break once in a while.

What is important though is to keep everyone tugging in the same direction.
You need to be very clear with what is expected of the group and of the individual. But as in everything, if you set up a goal you have to show how you plan to achieve it. Show the salesmen how they are going to complete their sales budget and how it together adds up to the whole. By braking numbers down. High goals often don’t feel as daunting.

Keep pushing the goals. Sales Training - Daily Meeting
Don’t let it be something that is written down once and then forgotten.
As the title of this article states, have daily meeting to make sure everyone is motivated and to stay on top of things.

Every day work through some drills.
Ongoing sales training is the best way to help you salesmen improve and it keeps them motivated and focused.

Whenever you are going to have a meeting with the salesmen you should have a plan.
An agenda. Decide what the point of the meeting is and be sure to stick to it.
By having a regular routine it is easier for you to stay on topic and find your bearings if you get lost.

I usually have a morning start meeting, a meeting after lunch and one at the end of the day to sum everything up.
It is important that the meetings in the morning and after lunch are inspiring and give the salesmen energy.

Also don’t be afraid to call your team into a meeting during the day.
If you see that the groups tempo is sinking, call them into a meeting. Praise those who have worked well and motivate those who aren’t working at their best.

It is important that you don’t let the tempo fall to low before you take action. It is always better to be proactive and catch the trend before it sets than being reactive and trying to turn the tide.
Stop the problem before it becomes a problem.

Good luck to you and remember to leave a comment if you have any questions or thoughts about the subject.
